Free Advertising Online with Google

Compared to just 10 years ago, free advertising online can now bring even the smallest businessman with zero advertising budget within reach of powerhouse corporations. While this may change at some point in the future, we are now in a unique era of opportunity for advertising and business promotion. Whether you have an online business or offline business, it doesn’t matter. the important thing is that you jump in while it lasts.

I’ll start by talking about some of the best, yet most underused, free online advertising available – and it’s offered by Google. Most small businesses around the world are unaware that Google offers free advertising in the form of local listings and Google maps. Take a trip over to Google Places to get just one easy offer. When you get there, all you have to do is provide Google with your company information, and your business will show up at the very top of the search listings for free.

Free Advertising Online With Google PlacesFor example, if you own Jenny’s Flower Shop in Orlando, when someone searches for flowers in Orlando (either they are searching from Orlando or have included it in the search term), you shop, along with its address and phone number, will show up at the top of the listings marked on a map. This will be above even the number one organic listing for “flowers in Orlando.” And that person had to work for ages on SEO and back link building to get there. Do you see the power here? You are equally matched with sites that have been search engine optimized (often at great expense) as well as with companies that have paid good money to be listed in the ads over on the right of the search results page.

Click on the image above to see where the Google Places shops are. Super highlighted, and you can’t miss them. And best of all, free. I’m surprised the paid advertisers haven’t kicked up a fuss about this. Enjoy it while you can.

Nothing with this power has ever been available to the little guy before – and it’s still a secret to the average business owner. Do yourself a favor and get over there to sign up right away. How’s that for free advertising online? It sure beats the bulletin board down at the local grocery!
